Would Appreciate your Opinion - DeStash Sale

Hello everyone!  I've really fallen into a happy place making ATCs and Cards.  I can apply any style I want to them, so if I'm in the mood for shabby chic, I can make a card, ATC, or even a tag in that style, but I don't have to make a huge project that takes days.  I think what I'm really enjoying is that the cards, ATCs, and even tags are quicker.

So here's where I am - I own enough paper to paper the house a few times over, and then I could wrap the house in lace a few times around after that, oh, and then cover it in flowers!!! It's ridiculous.  So, I've decided to do a MAJOR destash.

Here's where I would appreciate your opinion.  I can put together "kits" with the items I have.  They would include the paper, lace, flowers, a few embellishments, maybe a few wood pieces, etc. and sell them that way. Of course I would make them coordinating, and themed.  For example, a Shabby Chic kit would have more beautiful laces then a Christmas kit.  I have a Kaisercraft Advent Calendar I would put into a kit with Christmas paper, Kaisercraft wood Christmas themed embellishments, ribbon, lace, and some flowers.  OR!!! I could sell items separately so I would just sell paper pads and list them all I have for sale, same with lace, just show all the styles I have for sale.  Which way do you think is best??

This is going to be one heck of a destash.  All of my items are quality and are in beautiful condition.  There will be a lot to choose from.

Thanks for giving me your thoughts.

  1. Jane, I like the idea of the kits, but for those of us on a tight budget, it might be easier to purchase an individual item. This may not be what you needed to hear, but how about doing both? Have a few kits and some things selling individually?

  2. Why not do both and see how it works out

  3. Great ideas!! Kits are great as lots of people like that the coordinating is already done for them
Personally I'm looking for flowers. And if u are willing to destash, I'm in. You do have beautiful things and one stop shopping is much easier. I too have tons of paper. Tx

    1. Marianne, if you need just flowers I can hook you up. You can let me know what you need, color, size, amount, etc. and what you would like to spend and I can put together a package for you. If you like it, it will be yours! xx

  4. I prefer one by one. I've bought grab bags before and didn't like most....sounds like yours will be themed if you did in kits and we would know what's in it.....buy then that's more work. I'm sure whatever you do it will sell like wildfire. I'll put a hold on any art supplies like paints you might want to slim down on! And your extra glue gun!! Love ya

  5. I would love the kits because then I get your artistic your touch. But being on a tight disability budget the singles or small kits would be better. I guess that opinion was clear as mud. Sorry I was no help. Can't wait for your sale.

  6. well, i think i can't buy them becuse the shipping is way to expensive, but otherwise, you can also sell them piece by piece just like a webshop?
    i hope it helped you!!

  7. I think to give an equal opportunity, sell both, make up some kits and see how they sell along side some quantities of idvidul items and see what seeks best/fastest.

Hope you are all well :-)

  8. I would say do both, then if someone only needs paper they could get it. Others like me would love the coordinating kits. A new crafter like me would then know what was in the kit would go together. I would love to be in your craft room as you are doing this. It would be so much fun, Have a great weekend!!

    1. Haha, I wish you were here too.... I could use the help...lol I think I'm going to go mainly with kits, but there is going to be a big variety of them. There may be some individual items. My kits are going to be really good for those on a budget, because you will get small amounts of lots of things for a much better price then had you bought all the items in full size amounts. I will be doing a video to explain. xx

  9. I myself would prefer individual items. Rarely do I want all or even most of the items in a kit. Of course, sometimes I just don't know that I will like something very much after it has hung around for a while! ;)

  10. This is a hard question Jane. lol I think the "kit's" would be better because you said you would keep it themed. And just because it is a "kit" doesn't mean that someone has to keep it as a "kit". Maybe do both, offer some kits and some single items. I will tell you that you are never going to please everyone. Me, I would probably prefer a kit, but that's not to say I would enjoy buying single items either. So...there you go, I'm wishy washy! lol

  11. I agree DeNease, Kits that are your style..... BUT, de-stash very S L O W L Y..... or put it off like maybe until after Christmas?? ..... Oh....BUT.... wait...my mom's birthday is next month.... she gives us cash for her birthday:-) Hopefully you wont' sell out too soon..... BUT, I know you will, as you are very very popular.... It's the way you're viewed. (music to Wicked playing in my head) --- sorry I'm having a weird moment... it will clear up shortly

  12. I agree with some comments above, I like the idea of both. Kits are wonderful but can be out of reach for some people, where purchasing single items is more affordable. I'd love to see what you are destashing, and maybe help you out. lol I have an addiction buying craft items. Debbie :)

  13. Jane this would be awesome but like some of the other ladies, I am also on a small budget. I think it would be great if someone did a kit that was cheap and had a sample amount of inks, gesso, die cuts, laces, etc. Because personally I have never tried inks because they are too expensive. I also dont have a die cut machine. Hope that helps.

    1. Thank you, but it would not be possible to put a cheap kit together with all those items, just getting containers alone for everything would be costly, not to mention my time and paper expense for die cuts, so I don't think I'll be able to put this together.

  14. Hi my love Jane, oh my goodness, I can't believe you're doing a destash! lol I would love to get in on some wonderful kits you'd put together, unfortunately you know I have no income yet... I like the idea of doing both the kits and the individual. A little something for everyone. Good luck, I'm sure you'll sell out! Love ya' Patricia

  17. I like the kit idea better. It's always great to get a coordinated kit because a big part of the work is already done.

  18. Jane I would make both available. Kits are great because there's no guess work. If you're someone who already has a lot individual items would be great.
