A Very Personal Art Share - A Few Tattoo Closeups

I apologize it's taken so long for me to post these.  I promised them weeks ago when I first started my blog.  I've been asked several times if I would mind posting some.   These tattoos were all done by Scot Winskey at Inkwell Tattoo in LaGrange, KY.  He also did Mike's tattoo.

He is a like minded person for both Mike and I, in that he loves cars too.  It made it easy to convey what we wanted done.  He is also the person who fixed up my lower arm tattoo after a little incident of skin cancer.

I love his work, it's super colorful and fun.  Plus he loves Tupelo to no end and let's him by the Tattoo shop mascot while we're there...LOL

These are upper arm tattoos:

This is one on my upper back area:

  6. I'm not a huge tattoo person, but I think yours are pretty and colorful Jane. A few of my son's have some tattoo's too. I would consider getting one on my foot maybe but that would be it. lol I'd be to chicken! As hubby was getting his chemo last week there was another gal that was getting chemo too and she had a tattoo and the one nurse asked the other nurse about putting the needle through the tattoo and ink getting into this gals system. The other nurse said the ink was already in her system because of getting the tattoo. I had never thought about that before and thought that was interesting to know. I thought the ink just sat under the surface a little of the skin. So maybe you know something about that.

    1. I would imagine maybe some ink gets in your system, but I don't know much about it. I've never had any issues because of mine. I get shots every month in my arm tattoos, and no issues there either.

  8. LOVELOVELOVE the truck!! All of these tattoos are beautiful! One day I want to get my grandchildren's names (written by them) and footprints tattooed. I have a fear of needles though and the only tattoo shops around here are pretty skanky so I am afraid to go in them. By that I mean that they are dirty and the employees look like (and smell)they haven't bathed in months.
Someday hubby and I will go to another state and I will find a place that is a better fit for me. TFS!

    1. We have a similar situation here. We do have a shops that are clean and up to standards you would hope to see when going to get a tattoo, but they don't have the skill to do really good work. They're more like - pick a pre-drawn picture from their book and they can do it. Ask them to draw something and they're in over their head. It's a 5 hour drive one way for us and we have to get a hotel, take Tupelo along, it's an ordeal, but well worth it for Scot's talent. Plus his shop is really nice. Here's the link to where we go if you're curious: http://www.inkwelltattoo.com/www.inkwelltattoo.com/Home.html

    1. Thanks! Believe it or not that tattoo is about 8 years old now! I've always protected it from the sun with sunblock and I guess it paid off. x
